Garonhi

am Princess Casandra. I come from the northern Kingdom of Garonhi. Garonhi was a beautiful land, surrounded by mountains. Our Kingdom was small, but our kings were wise to maintain peace with other kingdoms. Our subjects were very prosperous and the kingdom thrived for thousands of years. We had managed to live in harmony with our neighbors, the ogres even though they were quite different from us. They did not live in peace with their other neighbors, but they never threatened us and we agreed not to interfere with each other.

One night we were awakened by terrible sounds and to our horror we discovered the ogres were attacking our castle. Thousands of ogres swarmed into our kingdom from the mountains. We were greatly outnumbered. We do not know what angered them. Some say it was the work of dark magic. All we can say for certain is that the ogres that attacked us that night were somehow changed from the ones we had lived in peace with for thousands of years. Since the kingdom had never really known a time of war, we were ill prepared for such an event. The ogres destroyed everything and everyone in sight

Escape

feared there would be nothing left of our kingdom, including myself. I could hear ogres coming toward my room. That was when the king's most trusted advisor, Sentra, appeared. He lead me and a few of the members of the court to a secret passage that let us escape. Sentra was not able to save my parents, the king and queen. It is rumored that he was so enchanted with me that when the attack came he only thought to save me first and neglected to think of the safety of the King and Queen. But I know better. It was mere luck that saved me instead of my parents.

During our escape the Court Mage, Sarina, caught up with us. She was with my father when he died. His dying words were that she must find me and help us grow strong so that we may one day reclaim our kingdom. My father had often spoken to me about a beautiful Kingdom to the south, Koguryo, so we decided to travel there.

Founding of Lost Kingdom

We made our way to Koguryo where King and Queen Yuri were gracious enough to offer us refuge. Now we must strengthen ourselves and be prepared for such attacks. We are a peaceful and honorable people, but we will not let such a thing occur again.

In memory of my parents I have vowed to keep the values and pride of our kingdom alive and to have it flourish once again. We welcome all those that wish to join us.

During the 20th year of Yuri, we officially became a part of the kingdom of Koguryo. The king came to the opening of our hall and spoke of an uncertain future. He also spoke to me of the weight that would now be on my shoulders. Now that my father is gone, I understand the burden he had to bear.

The Shattering

A prophecy was revealed - Sagu would return and bring terror and death to the kingdom.

The sphere shatters, dark one freed.
The dead scream.
The oldest calls.
The evil whispers.
The mighty falls.

Eldridge, the spirit guide, tried to further unravel the meaning of the prophecy. He discovered that a spirit arrow could be forged that would destroy the evil invasion. One terrible day, Sagu did come. Sagu summoned forth evil creatures that killed untold numbers of people.

The evil creatures invaded everywhere, even the places we once believed were safe. They dared to come to the clan hall and my own room, but were held back by brave defenders. I took great pleasure in being able to defeat these invaders. We were run out of our home before, this was not to happen again.

Victorious

Sagu was killed, but the evil creatures remained. According to the legend, a sphere must be shattered. We had believe that the sphere Sagu was in was what was meant by the prophecy. Once destroyed, the evil should have been gone from the land. To our dismay, Orb had been possessed by the Darkstaff. It had been the cause of all the destruction. In his madness, Orb slaughtered those trying to get the Darkstaff away from him. Meanwhile...

Eldridge and the Elders performed a ceremony to form a Spirit Arrow. The Darkstaff had to be destroyed. As Orb fought the powers that controlled him, many brave citizens tried to keep him occupied until MaDog could bring the Spirit Arrow. Once released, there was a terrible explosion. Nothing remained of Orb or the Darkstaff, except some fragments on the ground. I proudly wear this small fragment on my hand in remembrance of Orb.

Sentra

Sentra and I were approached by an ogre from Garohni. The ogre was unaffected by the dark magic that controlled the other ogres there. He had an idea that if Sentra could come with him, they might be able to figure out the source of the trouble. Sentra set out at once. Many months passed with no word from them.

Meanwhile in Kugnae a strange, shadowy figure appeared. She called herself Cassandra, and she was somehow connected to me and could see my thoughts. She knew that I was deeply troubled by something, but did not know what. Vasili interpreted Cassandra's 'visions' and discovered that Sentra was possibly in danger.

Cassandra went to Sarina for a reading to see if they could find out where Sentra was. With the help of the Shaman Chult, and against my wishes, Sarina performed a reading in the clan hall. It was then that they discovered Sentra had been caught by the ogres and they had killed him. I refused to believe this.

Sentra's last wish was to have his love ring and a message returned to me. The ogre who had befriended them tried to get the items back to me but was attacked by the other ogres. In his flight for life, the ogre dropped the items. The kindred of Lost Kingdom went in search of the last remnants of the great Shadow Warrior. YumYum was the first to find them and brought them to Sarina.

Sentra was able to verify that there was dark magic being used but not the source of it. In my sadness, I put away his letter and could not do much more than mourn his loss.

Cassandra

While I was in mourning, the Clan Sword and funds were stolen. For several days everyone tried to figure out who could have taken them. LordBrant deduced that the only person who might have been crafty enough would be a rogue. He carefully watched all the rogues looking for a thief.

LordBrant confronted Cassandra and saw that she had the Clan Sword on her. Cassandra announced that she was now the Primogen and they belonged to her. For months kindred tried to trap her and remove her from power, but she always slipped away.

One day, she dared to attack me to take the Clan Emblem. Normally she is not very strong, but something was controlling her and she nearly killed me in one stroke.

If it were not for SirPepper, I would surely be dead. In my haste to escape, I did not see him come, but he attacked Cassandra furiously. Before I collapsed from exhaustion, I saw her trying to run from him! She must have been weakened from the attack. As she tried to fight her way out of it, she dropped the clan sword and the clan money. Then she suddenly disappeared. SirPepper must have taken me back to my room, for I awoke to find myself there. Goddess, Rap, and SirPepper kept vigil over me, and they were present when I finally awoke. I was for the most part unhurt. Thanks to SirPepper, the stolen clan items were returned.

A Royal Wedding

stayed in my room alone with my thoughts for some time. SirPepper would often come to visit me. Although I was always happy to see him, nothing cheered me. One night, Sentra visited me in my dreams. He told me that I needed to move on with my life. Then I realized that is exactly what my parents would have wanted also, and there was still so much to live for.

Shortly thereafter, SirPepper and I were married. United as leaders of the great Lost Kingdom Clan.

Cursed

Cassandra once again tried to destroy our kingdom by putting me under some kind of spell. I was in a coma-like state for weeks until Goddess found a cure from some herbs in a distant land.

While I was unconscious, my mind was still functioning. My dear Sentra visited me and kept me company. He reminded me of something that he had returned to us. My family always kept a history of our kingdom. We have books dated back farther than I can remember. Sentra found a very interesting book while he was in Garohni. This book was returned by our ogre friend, but upon learning of Sentra's death I had put it away with his other things and forgot about it. He reminded me that there was some very intersting information in it. This book tells of a curse that was put on my family a long time ago. My father and mother never spoke to me about this. My father was not a superstitious man. So, I suppose he did not give much credence to it. It is my belief that this curse was the cause of the ogres' actions as well as Cassandra's. The curse has worked through Cassandra and is affecting others now. I believe the book contains information on how to break it's affect on Cassandra. I believe this will also cancel the effects it has had on our fellow kindred. However, it is very difficult to understand as most of it is written in riddles.

After deciphering the riddles, we had to collect items and place the items in spots that would help focus the energy to break the curse. We found the spots and placed the items there, but Cassandra learned what we were doing and scattered them to the winds.

Whoever has caused this curse upon my family must have been weakened by what we discovered, or was frightened somewhat because the kindred who have been affected by Cassandra are now back to normal and Cassandra has disappeared.

Cassandra's last message to me was about my child that I had believed was dead. She said that the child was alive and taunted me to find them.

New Beginnings

n the next few months a strange thing occurred. The ogre who had befriended us returned to the clan hall. He could not go back and live with the other ogres anymore. He was as much of an enemy to them as we are now. He agreed to live here and help us with his blacksmithing skills. I have never been able to pronounce his name, so I call him Thead, after an old warrior friend of mine.

The clan's artists designed a fine helmet/helm for our kindred to wear. After much work, Thead was able to make enough for all our kindred.

The Treaty of Buya was officially adopted. This treaty binds the Lost Kingdom Clan and the Clan of the Heavens together in a mutually beneficial alliance.
